In the lead up to the 2017 NSWJRU State Championships, the Rugby Performance Academy is partnering with local schools and junior clubs to provide extension 8 week training programs which will commence from October to December and January to March prior to reaching season start. The program will be based on individualised and specialised skill and athletic development with a strong emphasis on developing the individual in a holistic manner.

For most reading right now, this quote resonates with you from childhood whereby the only meeting place that had common ground, common interest, and freedom was on the field or court with a ball, a bunch of friends, and for some, an ‘outrageous’ dream. This quote extends to even the ‘Average Joe’ who loves nothing else but spending his Friday night supporting his favourite team, without realising the impact it continuously has by means of fellowship and a sense of belonging. As for all of us, there is something beautiful in revelling in your country’s colours. The proof is in how beautiful something like the Olympics or World Cup is. For a split moment in everyone’s lives, you can begin to see what harmony and peace looks like as sport brings its nations together. The power of sport is more than just entertainment and we can begin by on testimonials and how sport was their outlet for many reasons in their personal lives and for some, how it created a career of security, comfort, and peace. Furthermore, sport teaches oneself of commitment, discipline, accountability, and many other virtues to dedicate yourself. Whether you reach its peaks of competition or not, sport gives you great skills that you can use in life by becoming the best version of yourself.

My son really enjoyed the Rugby Performance Academy. The coaches were always positive and made sure the boys had fun whilst learning new skills or improving their current skills. The academy always had a great vibe to it and it was something my son looked forward to each week. He picked up new skills and improved on other ones like learning to pass on his bad side which he was proud to show me. Academy’s like this are very important to keep the game of rugby alive in Australia and give the boys the opportunity to improve themselves. Will definitely be signing up my younger boys when they reach the U12’s.
